Samson was born on a bitter cold February day. He was one of a set of twins; unfortunately his brother did not survive the cold. Samson himself had frostbite and couldn’t nurse. The farm brought him into their home and began to bottle feed him. Samson came to Highland Hills farm when he was 5 1/2 weeks old as an engagement gift from Jason to Amanda. We bottle fed him and he flourished. He became an impressive young bull who sired three calves. Sadly, in 2008, Samson had to be put down. He is greatly missed, but his last calf, Daphne will carry on his genes.

Delilah was brought to Highland Hills Farm at 8 mos old. She was a wild young heifer. We put her in a stall for a week to tame her a bit, but truth be told, Samson tamed her more. By the time she was a year old, Delilah was halter broke and thoroughly enjoyed a good brushing. She has become a beautiful and friendly cow who produces excellent offspring.

Daphne is our two year old heifer. A spitting image of her mother, she is lively and spunky. Daphne is a pretty brindle color with a white spot on her forehead and belly. We will be sending her out for breeding this summer.

Theia is Delilah’s latest calf, the current baby of the farm and also our biggest personality lately. She never fails to terrorize her mother by slipping under the fence at every opportunity to run amok and cause trouble. Although born gray, she is now the same brindle as her mother and sister.
